It's slow going, with only about 5.8 wheats per box as my average current YTD through these boxes. But even with that low average, if you do enough boxes you'll eventually get a nice amount of wheats. :-)

I hit #1,000 today. It was a 1942S (I looked, just to see). I'd like to get 2,000 for the year, so I"m a month ahead of schedule. I've been focusing on pennies though the last few months (Halves just not worth it out here), and later in the year I might do some nickels or something else. I still will work to hit 2,000 for the year though. I got 1,754 last year.

And 58,000 coppers so far this year. Versus 92,000 last year, and a goal of 100,000, so also ahead of the goal there too.

(Last year 1,754/92,000 = .019 of the coppers were wheat. This year so far through end of day 1,024/58,000 = .0176 wheats of all copper pennies found. A little lower ratio this year, because of a stash of about 150 wheats in one hand rolled box last year.)

Pretty impressive for hand sorting!

Are you crazy? hand sorting? Not me. :-)

I've had a Ryedale for almost two years now. I boast on it all the time.

I couldn't do that with hand sorting.

Oh- sorry - didn't know that.
You better step it up! - 3000 wheats & 9 IH's here!

But I've also bought 34 houses so far this year, and just sold one early today that I bought on May 8th. Bought on May 8th for $126,000, put $17,000 into fixing it up, finished the fix up on Friday, listed it for sale yesterday, and sold it today for $211,000 (MInus lots of fees, of course). Now the escrow period starts. Hopefully it will close (Most do, but not all)

So that keeps me busy much more than the pennies do. :-)
