Perhaps I've been doing this wrong?

I have always dumped my coins at my regular bank and opened an acct at the bank I want to buy from. For me, this seems best because the institution I buy from shouldn't give me any hassles as I'm not putting them out and my regular bank has had my business for many years - and well, money is money and it spends. It just seems a bit weird to me that quite a few folks do it the other way around and are afraid of the banks they dump at. I keep the coins in full rolls and like I see folks saying all the time, I don't return slugs or foreign coins - I take the hit on all of that frankly because it's ultimately going back into my account!

I dunno - just my 2 cents worth...

Either way works. And both banks will become "your" bank over time anyway.

I have accounts at two (PLus many others) banks. One is dump, and one is pick up. Both consider me their customer, and both even know of the other. No problem.

As long as you are getting the coins, doing your searching, and then able to dump, you are doing it right. :-)

I agree, either way is fine as long as all parties are happy. As for me, my dump banks are those that refuse to sell me coins without charging a fee! HH

I dont buy or dump at my regular Bank.

I have multiple accounts with multiple institutions. There is not a bank within 2 hrs that I cant' buy or dump at. Except for C.U's There are just too many.

In The metropolitan Detroit Area, There must be over 1000 banks in the tri county area. It takes me about 1 year to search everyone of them. and my answer to the question "Do You Have An Acoount With Us? Is "YES" unless i'm in a C.U.

THese are National banks doing buisness in S.E. Mi.

Oh yea those are some old bank names many have merged and remerged several times over.

Comerica is the offspring of Manufacturers and Detroit Bank & Trust I believe?

I have been to the oxford Banks but not many in my short trips, I would hit them once a month when I worked in Grand Blanc.....

Very interesting Tim. Looks like my memory is somewhat in tact.

Thanks for the link.
