    Wheaties box!

Great news for me today. Stopped into my favorite branch and my favorite teller mentioned someone brought in a lot of old pennies ... "They have dates on the rolls and everything".

Apparently a relative died so they deposited all the coins. Total $27 in pennies!

During my lunch break I was able to see 2 rolls of 1936 in apparently original bank rolls, a roll of 1911, a roll of GEM 1968-d, couple misc rolls of 40s, 2 rolls of 1924. Also see some rolls of uncirculated 1960-d.

I'll update tonight after I go through them all!

The older original bank rolls. Sold "new" coins hold a good premium. I would not open till you see what you can get. You can always open later if I'm wrong.
I will persist until I succeed.

I was not delivered into this world into defeat, nor does failure course in my veins.  I am not a sheep waiting to be prodded by my shepherd.  I am a lion and I refuse to talk, to walk, to sleep with the sheep.

I agree you may get a good amount if you don't open them.

    Re: Wheaties box!

    OK, a partial update.

I think I misused the 'obw' term as it looks like they are mostly date rolls in rather circulated shape. There are 7 shotgun rolls of 1960 p and d in complete gem condition and another 50-100 in red unc condition (mostly 50s with some 40s).

So far I've spotted about 6 1909 (a couple vdb) and at least several upgrades for the wheat collection.

Out of $27, $24 are wheats - heavy in pre 1940 and 40s, however light in '50s dates!

I'll try to get a count before the evening is done.
