That is definitely a handy chart for melt value. However, there is often a premium or lack of premium that can affect the price plus or minus that is dependent on supply and demand.

If junk silver ever gets to be the "in thing" like it was right before 2000 when survivalist types were buying it up, you will see values that exceed the chart. Premiums kept prices above melt for most of 2009 (buying and selling), but now they are back below again.

Well Jim, it give you a idea. This does not consider any Collectible value either.

I use coin inflation vs my coin dealer.

lets say that coin inflation says that a coin dealer for sell/buy will pay between

$2.50 and $2.63 for a 40% half then usually when I sell this is what happens


Low Coin Inflation High Coin Inflation Coin Dealer
$2.50 $2.63 $2.55 at the time I sold

still pretty close. I have done it this way
