$16 in loose halves (all the bank had) resulted in 2 x 1967 40% silvers.

Good luck all!

2006 may have begun with a bang here in Vegas but 2005 ended with the clink of silver! I had a bonanza of 40% silver in the $300 in halves I brought home.

1966 - 1
1967 - 9
1968D - 4
1969D - 3

...for a total of 17! That's more than half the total I found during a massive hunt I conducted earlier this year. I've always had a hunch that people cash in unwanted coins around the holidays so someone must have broken into a stash of 40 percenters. About half of them have dirty smudges but the others are pretty clean. Now I wish I had bought more!!

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2006!

Well, my final count is the same as my previous post - SEVEN 40% silvers from $92.50 is halves.

I'm still very happy about my finds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first half hunt of 2006 and for sure not my last!

Someone has definitely dumped a load of 40% at the casino I frequent.
Out of just $100 I got nine -

1966
1967 (3)
1968D (4)
1969D

I could even see one on the end of the roll before I opened it.
Now how to buy more without funny looks from the casino cage people... :D
