Anybody know what the numbers in parentheses means to the left of the mintage column in the Red Book? I can't find it referenced anywhere in the Red Book.
The numbers in parentheses represent the number of proof coins minted. If you look, you will see that each year with a number in parentheses, also has a value listed for the proof coins. In the 2010 Redbook, see page 21 and look two lines above where it reads rare coins as an investment and you will see the line that reads: Proof totals are shown in parentheses.
