Re: Two 1971D halves in One Roll

1971D's are clad, and worth a little less than $0.50.

:-)

Less than face value?
People were saying that it was a key date because of only a sum million made... :dontknow: :icon_scratch:

No, it's the 1970 half dollar that's hard to find. The mint only released 1970 halves in mint sets.

The '71Ds are junk. Spend 'em, dump 'em, or better yet, bury them. In 200 years someone can dig them up and then.... well, they'll still only be worth 50 cents.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

The 1970 half dollar club is very exclusive. Only a handful of people on tnet have made it in. Immediate banner for anyone who finds one.

You guys are making my head hurt. A 70 half from any mint is not a banner find. All you old timers like me need to quit joking, because the newbies are taking it serious. They need our guidance or they will not know what to look for.

1970 half's are as hard to find than silver proofs or bicentennial silver but it is not a rare coin at all.

I mean, rare to find it crh but can be purchased for $8.

The funny thing is that I find more silver 40% and 90% than impaired proofs and NIFC regardless the value.

Now, going more advace there is a truly mint error 1971D produced on a 40% silver blank.

PCGS has a record of that and Anacs too.
