Skunked on $100 in halves today but...
...scored two Ike dollars, 74D & 78D, on my weekly visit to Bank of America. The merchant teller's really cool and will save me anything weird that shows up.
Was under the weather and laid off searching for a couple of weeks. I'm back with a vengeance!
In addition to silver, do my fellow half searchers know to save any 1987, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 Kennedys? Those years weren't released for circulation. Almost a year of half searching and I've only found one - a 2002-D.

Bank of America huh? I've been trying to find dollar rolls and half rolls for a couple of weeks now.Been to 4 Wachovia banks and 5 Bank of America's,I swear they look at me like i'm crazy.A couple times I asked for sac. dollars as a last resort,i've managed to get 7 single sac. dollar coins. That's it.Period.It's a joke down here.I asked if I could order them,3 diff. tellers at 3 diff. banks told me NO.What the heck is up with this? Btw-I have an account at both of these banks.I'm thinking about switching banks because of the freakin attitudes these tellers have.I didn't realize I was asking for the world. So good luck to you,you must be in a small town where people are still human and act like it.

Re: Skunked on $100 in halves today but...
Acquiring half dollars has always been hit-or-miss. The merchant teller at my B of A told me some guy comes in every Friday and cleans out all their half rolls. The only coins I snag are stray Ikes that I happen to see on his coin tray.
My favorite question to ask is "Any old or unusual coins come in recently?" I once got $600 in SBAs and Sacs that way. As far as halves, I'm really spoiled because the casino I work in (Vegas) has 50? slots so I just ask for $100 a day and go nuts.
Today's $35 in nickels -

Re: Skunked on $100 in halves today but...
On Friday I hit a lot of banks and I ended up purchasing $1300.00 in halves. One sealed box that one bank ordered for me, and I found nothing in it. I also purchased $500.00 from another bank and I could tell the rolls had been searched according to what years were in each roll. The remaining $300.00 in halves produced one 1964 silver halve and 5(40% silver) halves. Actually, out of the $300, those halves came out of only 2 rolls.
Today I returned the halves to two banks that I have accounts at. I took $1000.00 to one bank and they were very friendly and the teller did NOT have a stroke. Then I took the other $300.00 to the bank that I frequent more and the teller knows me,but I could tell she wasn't happy about receiving the halves. I was a little pissed off so I said to her, you should be happy- I took $1000.00 in halves to another bank so you wouldn't have to deal with them.
Her eyes lit up when I told her that, but you know I'm sick of tellers being rude,it's their d*mn job and they should be glad they have a job!
But most of the bank I go to, the majority of tellers are very nice it's just the occassional idiot. I also had another teller at a bank offer to order me a box of halves. Most of the banks here in Ohio, have Sac dollars and SBA dollar rolls and offer them to me but I have never bought any.

Another annoyance is turnover among bank staff. Just when you get a friendly teller who knows your needs they get transferred. I have yet to find a teller over 40 years old.
Today was a good day. From $35 in nicks -
