I don't have any knowledge of foreign currency but I love finding it. Werid but I love it. It looks like silver and being from 1947 I would bet that it is silver. Congratulations on the find. It's simply amazing what's in rolled coins. :)

It's a British shilling (that's the English crest on the reverse) and believe it or not 1947 was the first year shillings were made in copper-nickel. Up until 1946 they were made of silver. Worth about $1 in its condition. Outstanding find!
