is the 1974D double dies. When I search my halves I put all my 1974D coins aside, then I will take a magnifying glass to those and look at the RUS in TRUST. There will be obvious doubling to these three letters. To date I have found 70+ of these coins, ranging in grade from VF to AU. The red book only lists the value in MS63 ($150), but even the circulated ones have a premium. I would have two more than I do now but they obviously spent some time in the machines at Las Vegas, and were too beat up to keep. I could barely make out the doubling, but it was there.

Bought another $1000 in halves yesterday and ended up with the following:

90% - 5 (4 Kennedy's and 1 1939 Walker)
40% - 11
Proofs - 0
1974D double die - 0

Not one of my better days, but any silver day is a good day. My total count now for the 90% since I have started roll searching is 540, and I still have them all.

If some one finds a 1974D double die, please post it, I would like to see if any others are turning up.

I would really like to see a picture of this doubling next to one that isn't doubled. I check all of mine and have never found one.

Unfortunately I am no good with a digital camera right now, I need to get more practice with it. You best bet to see an example is look on ebay or Google and find an example.

I haven't found one yet, either.... but here is an example for anyone who hasn't seen it. This is from the Red Book-

Thanks for the visual Jeffro.

Pfffft on $100 in halves again today. About 25% were shiny new 2001D's. Unusual to get that many in a casino batch.

It sure looks like it. I have always concentrated on the RUS, I have never looked at the 4 to see if it was doubled. I will have to look at a couple of mine that are in better condition to see if I can see the 4 doubling.
