I went to 18 different banks today and came up with about $25.00 in halves. One a 1968 so not all bad luck. I also bought some Ikes ($53). Found more of them than halves. Are the ikes worth any more than face? Also are 1976 halves or ikes worth more than face?

I also bought $70 in nickles. Went through them in about 15 minutes with my daughter and found the following:

1 - buffalo date brubbed off
2 - 1940
2 - 1942
2 - 1943 (30% silver yeah!!)
1 - 1945 (30% silver yeah!!)
1 - 1946
2 - 1947
1 - 1948, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955
2 - 1956, 1957
1 - 1958
2 - 1959
5 - 1960
3 - 1961
2 - 1962
5 - 1963
50 - 1964 (yes 50)

I know the 1960-1964 are not that special but they are older than I am so I consider them old.

That was my first time out but I plan on continuing the hunt.

Congrats on the buffalo! As for the 64's, just toss them. I'm surprised you didn't find more as I usually find enough to make a few rolls out of them alone. I keep everything older than 1970 until I have one roll of each. Anything older than 1960 I keep making rolls out of.

They made billions of 1964s...it's ridiculous.
Great job on those finds!! A buffalo and 3 war-times!! I go through $100 boxes and I've only found 1 war-time...and I'm proud of it! :) I only keep 1959 and before. Great job! :D
