I have a White's MXT but thought I would buy a box of halve's from my local Wells Fargo & try it out....
The results...
1- 77s (very nice)
2- 67 (40%)
4- 68 (40%)
I also had quite a few of near mint (71 to 2001, no 87s) ... should I hold onto them???_____
also...
1- 2003 near mint
1- 2005 near mint
1- 2006 near mint
1- 2009 near mint
9- 2010 near mint
Are these worth anything???_______

Where is the best place to sell your 40% silver?________ (I live in the Denver area)
Thanks,
Bob

My 2 cents worth for you. Keep the silver you found. Keep one or 2 of the newest and let the rest go back into circulation. There just isn't any evidence that clad halves will be worth anything more than fitty cents for a long time. You have 6 coins, chances are good a local Denver coin dealer would probably give you 2 bucks each at the most. Wait until you have a good slug of silver. The other piece of advice for you is silver is headed up not down so wait for the peak. Jim

Thanks Jim,
I found a coin shop that pays 11.6 times the face value of the 90% halves... (won't buy the 40%)
I'll just save them up & start calling around for a good place to sell them...

Save the Silver until you have enough to cash in when it gets above $25! The rest are not worth much unless you want to collect all the Kennedy Half Dollars.

What do you mean a cion shop won't take 40% silver? He/she must be nuts! I never wnet to a coin shop that wouldn't buy my 40% silver. I wouldn't give that person squat in silver! Then you would see him/her begging for any he/she could get.

What coin shop is that?
Most dealers here in this area offer 5x face value for the 90% halves.

Wait and go to a coin show to sell your coins. Spend a little time going to each table for prices. When you find a good price develop a relationship with them for future sales. Also the dealer may tell you of other shows in your area he may go to.

"5X".... being ripped off.... 11X 50 cents = $5.50 per 90% silver half....
