Just picked up some halve rolls to search, this came out of my first roll. I know its from Ireland, and the value is 1, but 1 what? "Punt"? My old coin catalogue lists pennies, schillings, farthings, pence, florins, and crowns, but no "punts".....

Thanks folks, shoot.... I ain't even done going through the rest of the rolls yet! ;D

I've got one 90% and four 40% halves so far, only 23 more rolls to go.

Looks like its worth 1 1/2 dollars in the exchange rate. I also see that this was the first year of issue, and it was discontinued in 1999 when the Euro took over. May be something to hang onto, only a ten year run....

I think the Irish pound symbol is to the left of the "1". Considering the animal portrayed, could you also call it "one buck"? :D

The total out of $500-

1-1964 90%
5- 40% (67, 68, 69)

Pretty poor results, but oh well thats how it goes.

I also got the one Punt, thats a plus, and I got a 1982 cameo proof. And one of the 1968-D's I swear looks like it was punched on copper-nickel, but that can't be possible, can it?
