........PENNIES!! Lol! Thanks, hon! Well, I still love her, regardless! All '43 steelies, w/one '43 D. I got a small horde of about 30 or so earlier this year, that I paid 1 cent each for. Well, ya can't beat free! ffd

I agree that they are very cool. They have a nice story behind them along with the war nickels. When I give kids steel cents and war nickels I always tell them the story and they just love it. They always seem to remember the story and I sometimes hear them tell it to other kids when they show off their collections. I've bought them locally for 10 cents each but dealers will charge as much as 50 cents in some cases. They are pretty common so they aren't worth a fortune but they are a requirement for any collection.

Very cool even though they are steelies...I'd be happy with them...maybe not as happy as a roll of silver dimes but still happy.

Hey I would be happy with that. That is a very nice thing for her to do. Now you have to return the favor, even if it costs you a little, because you need to reward her efforts. Does she have a single sister?
