I ordered 4 boxes of halves this time and once again ONE box produced all of the following. The other three boxes had NO keepers. I don't understand how one box is really good and the rest have nothing, very strange. ???

31-40% Silver Kennedy Halves
7-90% Silver Kennedy Halves
4-Franklin Halves (1961, 2-1962, 1963) Two are in beautiful condition.
1-Walking Liberty 1944

I opened all of the boxes before I started sorting thru them. One of the rolls shows the back of the Walking Liberty half.

WOW!! That's Awesome!!!
You probably do not have any else in your area searching....so that anything that goes to the
bank is yours to find...
You are right about how it is strange that one box contains so many...and the others have nothing!!
It has been really slow in my area, except for the box I got yesterday have one Franklin and one 40%.
Not as much as your cache!!
HH!!

Dang, you're making the rest of us look bad ;D
You KNOW it's going to be a good hunt when you see the eagle on the back of a walker staring back at you.
Outstanding hunt!

Hi Joe, There is definitely more than myself searching for halves within a 5 mile radius of where I live. In January I was able to walk into banks and ask for halves and would be able to purchase a lot of rolls that customers brought in. As of late February until now I can only find a few loose halves in the banks, and none of them have been silver. I even ran into two men at two different banks also asking to purchase halves, and the one got there before me and got all that they had. lol The competition is really getting tough around here. I think I've just been EXTREMELY lucky to have gotten two good boxes, two weeks in a row. I'm afraid to order any next week. LOL

The same thing is happening here....I was able to buy halves from any bank during the winter...now they are scarce
I heard this is because alot of of older people were cashing in their cache of silver halves to pay for heat!!
Now that the heating season is coming to a close, not as many people are cashing in. Just a thought...

I hadn't thought about the elderly cashing the halves in to pay for the heating bill; but that makes perfect sense as to why there were so many available then and not now. It does make you feel sorry for the elderly. :( I do remember reading the post about the elderly woman that cashed in the Morgan and Peace dollars to pay for a heating bill. :( I sort of feel guilty for being so happy about finding the silver. :-\ But then again I am unemployed so when I cash in the silver it will help me out a great deal.

If you didn't find them someone else would...Don't feel guilty. If you know of someone who cashes in coins to pay a bill because they are in need help them out with your knowledge. Finding good coins is fun but helping a person in need is always better! You might get a chance to make a friend...I'm sure the good karma will be reflected in your finds ten fold. HH

Yes- you said it, KW.
Congrats on more great finds, Pennyworth. You have done quite well for yourself, if I do say so myself! :D

You've inspired me Pennyworth! I ordered my first box from Wells Fargo today and I pick it up Tuesday. Anything's gotta be better than my hunted-out casino. Just for kicks I tried $100 in quarters today and got what I expected...pfffft! Can't wait for the halves!

Hi Immy,

I wish you a lot of luck with the box,hi ho silver! Let us know what the results are. I forgot to ask the teller to order halves for me this week, but I went into the bank just to find out if she had ordered any just in case. She said she ordered one box,and of course I bought it. I found 2-40% silver halves, not great, but I'm still happy that I found some silver. :)
