After all the Walkers in last week’s box I was looking forward to picking up my next box today. The main branch of my bank (20 miles away) orders me 4 boxes a month and the head teller at my branch picks them up on her way to work and I buy one a week. There was a chance today’s box would have been ordered at the same as the last one. I got the box home and found this
A Walking Liberty and a Franklin were showing, good sign. This box was definitely in the same batch as the last box.
19X1, 1936-D, 1939-D, 1941, 1941-S, 2x 1942, 1942-D, 2x 1943, 1943-D, 1943-S, 1944, 2x 1945, 1945-S
1952, 1954, 1958-D, 1959-D, 1962-D
2x 1964, 2x 1964-D, 2x 1965, 1966, 6x 1967, 8x 1968-D, and 4x 1969-D Kennedy
We also got 3 more of the burnt looking proofs and a nice 1967 British One Penny.
When we were done my wife said I had to go see if they had another box from this batch. I dumped my rejects and went back to the bank. The teller said she had one more box but wouldn’t have another order for 2 weeks. I said that was fine I and I would skip next week. She got me the box and said while I was gone someone dropped off 4 rolls and a few loose. I saw 2 silver edges in her coin tray. She picked them up and looked at them for a minute, then asked if I wanted them. She had $43.50 worth, the rolls were skunks but the loose had a 1964-D and a 1967. She normally keeps the 90% she finds but has let me have some 40% in the past.
Well I got the box home and opened it.
3 Walkers showing (1 roll had a Walker on both ends). This box was just like the last 2
1920-S, 1934, 1935, 3x 1937, 1941, 1941-D, 1941-S, 2x 1942, 1942-S, 4x 1943, 2x 1943-D, 1944, 2x 1945, 2x 1945-D, 1947-D
1951-S, 1954-D, 1958-D, 1961, 1962-D
2x 1964-D, 1965, 3x 1966, 6x 1967, 8x 1968-D, 3x 1969-D, 1987-D, and a 2002-D Kennedy
Plus 4 more proofs
The total for the 3 boxes: 72 Walking Liberty, 13 Franklin, 15 90% Kennedy, and 63 40% Kennedy.
With the boxes, the road trip, and the extras this has been a great first half of September.
