Howdy fellow CRHers,

I've been working way too much this year, but I had to do a plumbing repair on my water heater, so I took the day off yesterday. I did the repair, which took about 2 hours total, so then I decided to take a nap and when I woke up I went out for a little local hunting. Couldn't get many halves, and the ones I got were all clad, so I bought a couple of nickel boxes to cheer me up. One was from Garda, the other was supplied by Brinks. Brinks have always been my favorites. Here's what I pulled from the two Boxes:

Brinks: 1929 Buffalo, '40 x 3, '43P, '44S, '46 x 2, '46D, '47, '48, '51, '52D x 3, '54S, '54D x 4, '55D

Garda: '38 Jefferson, '39, '40S x 2, '41 x 4, '42 (not silver), '43P, '43S, '46D x 2, '47, '47S x 2, '48 x 2, '49D, '51, '52, '54D x 3, a really nice '65 that I couldn't throw back, and 6 Canadians: '69, '81, '83, '94, '99, 2000

Two War Nickels from each box, but the Brinks really came through. I needed the '44S to fill a hole in my '38-'61 Jefferson book and the buffalo was just a bonus. Now if I could just find a '38D, a '38S, and the elusive '50D, my book would be complete.

I stopped by a bank to cash my paychecks today, and picked up 4 clad Ikes, $5.00 in loose halves which contained a '69, and two rolls from the vault. My wife went through the rolls while I showered, and each roll had 2 more 40%ers, so I got a total of 5 40%ers today, and I picked up another box of nickels to go through tomorrow.

Kindest regards,
Kantuck

Nice score! I know what you mean about not throwing nice nickels back, I recently found a 1947 and 1948 with full steps :icon_scratch: and they replaced the other ones in my book. I stopped saving most pre 60's (too many) I also scored the 39-d last week. My missing ones are 38-s, 39-s, 50-d, and the infamous 55. HH, SE
