but it was a 70-D. ;D I was sure these boxes were skunks since they had many marked coins (SFBayArea I saw quite a few of yours). As I was finishing up the last rolls, out popped a nice minty 70-D. It has been a slow month but it was nice to end it on a good find. I have found quite a few of the 70's but they always show up with other silver coins.

Good to hear from you Rich.. I haven't had much luck out here either. Things have been very slow too. In the last two weeks, I searched 5 boxes and I ended up with 5 40%. A couple of them were skunks but I don't remember which ones. Nice job on the 70D. They're not that uncommon for some reason out here. I've found some before. I still haven't found a 68S or a 69S yet. I have spent a significant amount of time in marking as many beat up casino halves as I find. I began to mark the month and year on the back of the marked coins recently too just as a better tracker. I probably shouldn't spend so much time marking them but I get so frustrated with the meager finds. I feel so jealous seeing all the good finds here.

Tom,

If you need a 68-S and 69-S send me a PM and we might be able to work out a trade.

I know it will be hard to believe but I found another 70-D and a 69-S today. In fact the 70-D was the first coin I found and I thought someone was using an optical scanner to sort and just pulling 69 and earlier but I found other 40%'ers in the box. The 69-S came in the last box.

Thanks for everyone wanting to help but I'm hoping to find one myself eventually although things have been very skunkish of late. The 1968-S, 69-S will be up there with the 1950 wheatie which I still haven't found yet. LOL
It's been skunkish but I did go and get another dime box this week to make me feel better. I did get a 63-D & 64-D in this $500 box. 2 is a great number for me considering the times.

True Warrior award for CRH. That's hella sweet.
And if I were to mark rolls, I'd use a thin line dash system..
Just don't give all your secrets away yet! The best is still to come.
Very interesting to mark the months and dates. I can see it now..

I've only gone through a handfull of rolls. I have no idea what it's like to search a box.

Don't worry I've been doing this for almost 10 years.. albeit at about 1 box per week for most of the time. I don't have the funds to did major boxes. When you do that many, it becomes a chore or job not so much a hobby unless you're retired. You're not in my area so I don't care about competition.. LOL
These aren't really big secrets that would have any influence over anything. Most people here on this forum do try to help eachother out with this hobby. HH Good Luck
I'm sure you'll pull more Ag than me based on my area which is very dry right now.

Yeah well, every day more people look for silver coins.

Not to mention that in "my area" at EVERY bank I go to, the tellers and managers are already aware of CRH'ers. Not to mention some of the mangers even brag about how they pick out the silver since they get first cut. ANd then to have others question what I am doing with all those pennies, making slights about ebay, etc.

This does not stop my very slow progress as I have about 7 clads and 4 90%ER'S from hardly any work at all.

I firmly tell them they are for the grandkids. Just today the lady asked me " oh, you have grandchildren??" I laughed and said, not yet, but one day I will.
