WTG on the 87 and the silver. I hope my box tomorrow has something in it. I've been doing better with the tellers than the boxes.

I knew box three was going to be good when the first roll my daughter and I opened had a 64 Kennedy, our very first Franklin, AND our "very second" Franklin. The 1917 Walker was about 3/4 of the way through the box, pretty worn, but also pretty old.

Also in the box were two VERY shiny plated clads. I thought they were silver plated, but the more I look at them, the more I am convinced they are Chrome plated.

Here is the breakdown of the coins found in box three:
1917 Walker, 2x1964, 3x1964-D, 2x1966, 5x1967, 3x1968-D
Bens: 1949, 1951, 1952-D, 1952-S, 1954-D, 1957, 1958-D, 1959-D, 2x1960-D, 2x1962-D, 1963, 2x1963-D
Silver/Chrome Plated: 1971, 1974

Wish all our boxes were this fun to search!

To quote Emmerill--BAM! That's the dream box we all hope to find! Nice going! Can't wait for the last box results.

Results for Box Four: zip, nada, nothing. No silver, no keepers.

I don't get how two boxes can be so good and the other two so bad.

All boxes were yellow paper wrappers in flat 5x10 roll boxes, all marked the same:

The light Ben was clean, but not really shinny, more pasty white. The camera made all 3 look better than they are, but the 63 Ben is probably AU.

The "S" mint Ben is the one with all the black crud or paint on it. To clean or not to clean, that is the question.

Thanks, and a BIG thanks to Inspector 4102.

And now, the rest of the story....

After returning the searched halves to my "return bank" which uses Brinks, I ordered 4 more boxes from my "buy bank", which uses Allied service. I also got $470 in halves from a Chase bank, out of their coin counting machine. Results:

Chase $470 - No Silver, a Costa Rica coin
Box 1 - No Silver
Box 2 - No Silver
Box 3 - No Silver, my second 2004-P
Box 4 - No Silver

So, what a difference a week makes. And 2 of the boxes were stamped the same as the "good ones".
I really can't figure out these boxes. How can some be so good, and the rest all junk clad? I wouldn't have believed the reports of Franklin's and walkers if I had not gotten that ONE box.

Oh well, maybe next month.

Wacky how it goes- I have my second box on order right now, the first one produced 49 silver! We'll see how many times I can get lucky..... heheheheh, this is almost getting to be like gambling at the casino!

I have a standing order now, a box every two weeks. That should satisfy the urge...... ummmmm..... maybe...... ;)

Haha.... ahhh.... the urge..... At first I thought I would be happy just getting one box a week... then I upped it to two from that bank... and then I got another bank to order me $500.... That's $1500 in halves every week... And I'm still not satisfied, haha.

Really nice third box! What's with the red on the coins. I got 2 boxes last week and had several red halves in one of them as well. Looks like fingernail polish.

First box I got skunked and the second box I found 4 40 percenters. 1-65 1-66 1-67 and 1-68.
