Lately I have just picking up $5 in Pennies every time I dump and usually end up with an average of 1 wheat penny(usually late 40's or 50's) per $5 and about 20-25% of those are copper pennies, but last week I got a roll with a wheat on the end and that one roll contained 10 wheat pennies. The oldest ones being a 1929 and a 37 the rest were 40's & 50's. Now I haven't done to man rolls of pennies but is this common?

I just recently did a box of pennies for the first time and got about 15 wheats. Box was 35% copper.

My penny boxes have been giving up about 15 wheats and between 25% - 30% copper over the last 3 weeks. Think I hit someones collection cause it's all coming from same bank. I expect those numbers to drop some.

I probably average about 12 wheats a box, mostly '40s and '50s, with the occasional one from the '10s-'30s. Found one 1903 Indian Head so far in the 10 boxes I've searched.

I also average about 6 Canadian pennies a box too. I don't keep copper totals so I can't tell you how much of that.

I get about 10 wheats per box of $25 with a consistent 25%+ in copper. A good box for me is 30% copper and 15 wheats in the whole box. I rarely get wheats that are older than 1940 and I've never found an IH. I probably average 5 or so Canadian cents per box as well.

I once got a couple rolls with nothing but pre-40's, including some 1909's. The best wheat score was about 30 rolls of 40's and 50's. Additionally, I've gotten a roll with two indians in it (nothing else strangely)

I would consider a good penny roll containing 5+ wheat pennies
In my area, a box of 50 rolls ($25) usually contains 8-25 wheat cents... 1 every 2-3 rolls seems around right.
I don't sort out pre 1982 coppers, but there's a bunch around my area. (I pick out nice looking pennies from the 60's+early 70's, and "S" mint marks.
Hope this helps

Thats about dead on what I find in a box of Cents..but there was that time I ended up getting over 1300 wheats in one shot, which made me a beliver
