60 halves 11 silvers!

Went to local bank today and asked for any halves that they had on hand. Teller says, "We got $30.00 in halves last week". I'm thinking cool..I might have a chance to get 1 or 2 silver. But then she says, "I already pulled the silver out...I found a 1964...do you still want the "regular" ones?" I said what the heck, yes, I want them. Glad I did. She neglected to pull out all of the 1965-1969. Guess she "forgot" those.

I find this to happen to me some too. I used to think it was only the younger tellers but see in with older ones too. Good score.

Seeing a simple kennedy half dollar reguardless of the date, (1964, 1968, or 1972), they all look the same to one who knows very little on coins.
When a teller sees something unusual like a franklin or walker, they'd most likely know something's odd. Especially when it comes down to peace/morgan dollars compared to Ike's... the Ike's are from the 70's compared to coins that are a minimum of 76 years old!

Yeah, tellers either aren't aware, or just dont care about the 40's, especially when they are offered a buck apiece by a jeweler.

Good score! I always take them regardless of what the teller says. More than once they have said "there's no silver in them" and sure enough I find silver!

I picked up some rolls from a bank that a young teller admitted to me with a big grin that she "checked for silver". Well in 3 rolls I got 3 40%. I'm not gonna educate her

I've been getting someone's dumps at the bank for the last 2 months (rolls marked, hand crimped loosely on one end), and found many 40%ers.. I'm sure many people don't know about them
more silver for us!
