1994 Error penny found while CRH'in

I have been hunting for silver 1/2's and penny sorting for about 1 month now. I came across this guy last night. (1994 Error ?) I am new to this and if anyone could lend some info it would be great. Thanks,

Yep, She is a beauty. It is a die clash, this type is also know as a prisoner cent because of the bars around Linclons face. This is a VERY strong example and could bring a nice profit from the right person. Nice find

Not only is it a clash, but it's a multiple clash. Go to http://www.lincolncentresource.net and post the photo. Someone there can give you more info and possibly may want too catalogue it.

It's not real, same answer as the other forum. Some kind of substance is on the coin and another coin was pressed into it. The reason it can't be a clash because Lincoln is below the field on a die, making it impossible for the memorial design to transfer that deep. It can't be a flipped double strike because the word "America" is backwards. Pure and simple "adhesive doubling".

I'm not as qualified to answer as Enamel, but it seems like a good idea to me. And, it's a '79 so nominal would be 3.1g.

The weight of the adhesive on this coin is probably very low. My guess, based on the images provided by jailedLincoln87, on this, and at least one other thread, is the weight of the glue is 0.05 grams, or less. Well within observed tolerances of .950 coppers.

Probably very new at this. He will learn. Unfortunately, some of the replies on this thread, and others were not helpful.

If I remember, when I find another coin pressed with glue, a photo progression showing the stages of cleaning that funk off will have to be made. Or more likely, I will forget.
