IT'S ABOUT TIME-GOOD DAY FOR HALVES

I found a new bank to order boxes of halves for me. I picked up two boxes of halves from the NEW bank and found a nice assortment of halves today. The first box contained ALL of the silver. I had a feeling it might be a good box when I found the back of a Franklin looking back at me.

FIRST BOX:

1941 Walker
2-1943 Walkers
1963 Franklin

****1970S SILVER PROOF***
1983S Proof
1988 S Proof

1-1964 Kennedy
21-40% Silver Kennedy

The second box had no keepers.

The third box from my usual bank had:1979 Repvblica DE Panama Medio Balboa. I haven't looked this coin up yet
so if anyone has any information please post it. Thanks.

The fourth box from my usual bank had no keepers.

I was very pleased with today's results.

Pennyworth, you have an amazing track record. You have long stretches where you get nada, then you find boxes that are astounding. This is the latest of at least a half dozen "dream boxes" for you so far this year. It might even inspire a cynic like me to order more.

That is indeed a coin from Panama, the denomination is a ½ balboa, which is their version of a 50¢ piece. In its condition it's worth 75¢ according to my catalog.

Can't wait for your next amazing finds!

Thanks for the information about the coin Immy. You should consider ordering a box or two,who knows what surprises might be waiting for you. I can't wait until August when I go on vacation because I plan on hitting the casinos where my friend lives and any machines that still pay out in coins I am going to put in large bills and hit cash out. Check out all the coins,find any keepers and cash in the remaining coins.

Great finds! a 1970-S is very tough to find, as is a Panama Coin! And Walkers and a Ben, wow.

Isn't it strange how hot and cold the boxes run? One great box and three phffft....

Jake, my mom was helping me search the halves and she's the one that pulled out the 1970S silver proof and said here I think this is something good(because it was really shiny). LOL I almost wet my pants when she handed it to me and of couse we high fived each other. Then she's really,really calm(like it was no big deal) and handed me one of the Walkers, and said I think this is a Walker. I said you KNOW it's a Walker, and she said she just wanted to surprise me. LOL Whenever I know I'm getting a box loaded with silver I always let her help search it because she likes to pull the silver and boy does she get bored when the rolls don't have any keepers. ROFL

HobBob, I'm sending GOOD LUCK to all of our coins searchers! Get out there and find that silver!

Hey Gold, keep ordering those boxes and searching. You can't imagine how many boxes I have gone thru in the last month and a half that had squat. lol

Let me get this straight, halves up until 1970 have some amount of silver, but if you get one with an "S" on it it is silver as well?

Beauty on that first box! The Ben half is one of my favorites! Hope you have better luck at the casino than I did yesterday. Had to go to Maryland for work, went to Charles Town WV because they just built a new casino. Was going to dump about $60 in halves if they had the machines that take them. Couldn't go in, because the work truck is taller than the 7' 6" garage clearance, and the regular lot is still under construction. Dagnabbit!

RatRacer, what a disappointment! Sorry to hear that. I would have been really cranky if that happened to me. I'll post if or what I find from casino searching the beginning of Sept,when I return from vacation. I've been debating if I want to stop at any of the casinos going to or comming home from the vacation. I know of two that are on the way,but the drive is about 13-14 hours straight thru.

Congratulations Pennyworth. Absolutely wonderful haul. Especially those Walkers.. Love em. Am looking forward to finding my first Walker someday. Whether detecting or roll hunting. I have 2 favorite coin designs...Mercs and Walkers. Gotta love em both!!

The silver halves were scattered in different rolls.
