Finally the half dollar gods were kind to me! In the past $5,000 in halves that I have searchd (10 boxes worth) I have only found 3 40% half dollars. As you can see from the first picture, my luck changed when I opened up my first box! Ben was checking me out!

Out of $1,500 worth today I got the following:

1962D Franklin
2 - 1964 90% Kennedy
6 - 1964D 90% Kennedy
2 - 1966 40% Kennedy
2 - 1967 40% Kennedy
5 - 1968D 40% Kennedy
4 - 1969D 40% Kennedy

1994D off center error
1983S Proof
1973 Gold Plated
2003D & 2004P

I got a little bit of everything today! :)

I also noticed that in the first box that held all but 4 of the silver halves a lot of the 1974D and 1973D halves had black permanent marker across the word TRUST. Does anyone out there use this as their marking? I think it's a good idea!

Hope everyone else is having as much luck as I am.

Sweet! Boxes here lately have been all clad. I'm still looking for my first Franklin half.

I did get a '55 Roosevelt last weekend with the Minelab Excalibur, so it's something at least.

Sweet!! Hoping to have an eyeball encounter with Mr. Franklin one of these days. You rock!
I was looking in your pic for the off-center error but didn't see it. How far off-center?

Good boxes.. I'm still waiting for mine to do a turn around. My silver finds have been scant but one of the banks I get my boxes from has had an unusual number of "S"s, 9 in the last 3 boxes.

HH,

My camera hates taking pictures of coins.... so I will try to describe it. It is basically like a crescent moon. There is a rim on one half of it and no rim on the other half. Not a huge one, but still easily noticeable at just a glance.

Right on, man!

Great finds! It is about time!

As I have already found some 40% and a couple of 90% halves, naturally my next goal is a Bennie, and after that a Standing Liberty...or 2...or 3...or 60 or so...

Nice results!

Looks like the 5x10 boxes my bank orders. Did you notice the date stamp on the flap?
I wonder if they fill these boxes at the Chicago Fed Bank.

Keep pullin' that silver!

The date stamps were june 27 on the box that had most of the silver, and june 30 on the other two. About a month or two ago I got a box dated from 2004... it was full of silver.... ahhh.... it was nice :)
