    Pay a premium??

OK so its probably in the wrong topic but I'm just trying to win an argument right now... So if someone came up to you and tryed to sell you a Morgan dollor for more then it was worth on its actual value because it apparently owned by Jessie James but there is no proof. Would you pay the premium?? I say no because there cant be any proof about this.. What would you guys do?? Thanks

No, anything in the collector world must be documented.

I got a gallon of water, of which some of it was drank by Jesse James. Probably by a lot of other famous people as well.

    Re: Pay a premium??

It is silly to pay a premium for any coin outside of the coin itself, paperwork or no paperwork. Coins owned by a famous person, especially with no paperwork is about the silliest thing I have ever heard of to pay a premium on. Also, beware of "shipwreck" coins, even though they have proper documentation, they rarely sell past their coin value, which is usually degraded due to being submerged.
