Two mercs today...one didn't "ring" true

I was happy to find 2 mercs today. One was very worn and, after I did my customary coin flip ring test, I was curious to find that the ultra worn one sounded like the dull zinc thud one would hear when flipping a post 82 cent.

All mercs are silver right?

Thoughts?

Here's a few pics of the thuddy one.

Edit....
Holy cow I didn't realize how big these pics would be! sorry

Looks like a beach coin or like it was in a fire.

There are counterfeit mercs out there. One member that posts occasionally (CyberDan I think?) either found some or bought some - can't remember which.

Wow, That's a lot of hair and flesh. I had my monitor set on 200% so I could read the small print. My wife walked in and thought I was looking at pornography. Had some explaining to do.
