Hey Immy! Have you notice a lot of 1964 US cents seem to be very shiny and well preserved? I spot that all the time, 1964 cents that have deep bold features and a super coppery glow to them.

The 1964's I'm mentioning are Canadians, but as far as US cents, yes, I do notice quite a lot of early Memorials that look like they're right out of a BU roll. So much so that my #2 Lincoln Cent Whitman folders have pretty much all shiny, new-looking Memorials. I'm keeping all pre-1982 coppers in very large casino cups (already have one full) and a quick look thru a handful shows some shiny ones. Wonder where they sit for so many years to stay new-looking.

I'm curious about that myself. Wonder if it's not a Morgan dollar-type situation. You know, they made a slew of cents in the mid-sixties and stuck them in vaults, and they've only been circulating for a few years. My other thought is that the mint may have had a different supplier for a few years supplying a higher grade of copper. ???
