Nice Find! How many quarters do you search in a typical week? Are you in N.C.? I would expect maybe that the state proofs are more likely to be in circ in their own states.

In a typical week I search about anywhere from $300-400. My dad owns some washers/dryers so I search them before he takes them to the bank to get counted. I've only found a handful of silver quarters though, but I figure I've got nothing to lose but time. And nope, not in NC I'm actually in MO.

Why? It's not like each quarter was only issued to it's respective state. Plus, wouldn't people in that state feel more inclined to SAVE the coins rather than spend them?

My thought is that most people would be inclinded to get the proof of their state, as opposed to other states. If it was with other proofs I would call it a collection dump...but solo...odd.

If you want just one state, you will need to buy it from a third party (ebay maybe?). You can't buy just one state from the US mint. You don't have to get the entire proof set, but you need to get the entire quarter proof set for the year which will consist of 5 state quarters (1999-2008), 6 territory quarters in 2009, and 5 national park quarters (2010 and beyond)..
