The secret's out of the bag

I was paying with half dollars and Sacagaweas for snacks at the gas station today, and the teller complained about them, then looked them over for silver. I asked if that's what he's doing, and he says he got a "collector's item" from a customer who had no idea what they had. Then he pulls out a 2007-S silver proof half dollar. ;D That's the first recent silver proof half I've seen in "circulation". Then another customer walks up and says "oh, is that a silver fifty cent?"

Guess the cat's out of the bag.

I don't know how someone could pass up a proof half dollar, a collector or not, they just stand out so much! Especially if it was silver. I guess the cashier was happy that they got a silver proof, what are the odds? :icon_thumleft:
