Hi all, finished off a penny box that I picked up at my local bank, and it was definately a good box. I am averaging 18 wheats each penny box, but this one contained 21 wheats. oldest being from 1936, and also including a 1942 wheat penny in great shape!

What really got my attention was a coin from the denver mint set. Out pops the denver mint set penny-sized coin from a roll, never got one of those in circulation before. a few rolls later, another one pops out!!! Ended with a total of 3 denver seal USA mint set coins(see picture)

The box was stamped and dated the date and machine that processed the coins, hoping next trip to the bank that they have some of the same type of box.

I'd say this is the coolest find I have found searching pennies, except a 1908 IHP found in march. (This box had 2 wheat penny enders)

I put pictures up, everybody loves pictures(scans in my case) :D

some interesting finds - and 3 of them too - and that is a great looking red '42 - amazing to find one like that in circulation these days - bet you had to do a double take on that date.

and I guess those mint set tokens don't have dates on them so there is no way to know what year they are from.

Nice finds! That's a good percentage for wheats, and the mint tokens are cool. Congrats :icon_thumleft:
