OK, I just finished my first pass through two $25 boxes of pennies I got last week from the credit union. Best results I have gotten yet!
Rather than getting Brinks-type boxes from the vault, this time the teller brought out two brand-new cardboard flats, proceeded to turn them into 3-dimensional boxes, and loaded them with rolls that people had brought in recently. I felt a little bad making her go through the effort, but she seemed more than happy to do so, and said she was glad to get rid of all those rolls. But I digress....
Wheats: 16 (1929 1934 1940 1944 1946 x2 [including one with what appears to be a planchet or possibly a striking error, with plateaus on both sides], 1950D x2, 1951 1953 1953D 1955D 1956D x3, 1957D).
Canadian King George pennies (1952 and before): 6 (1940 1941 1943 1952 x3).
Proofs: 1968S circulated, with a very large date relative to the coin's size (or so it seems to me!)
Foreign: a gold-colored coin with what appears to be Chinese writing, with a bald guy on the front and a "1" plus more Chinese writing on the back (and no date, and also no holes as I have seen in other Chinese coins), a 1993 10 centavo coin from Argentina, and a Cayman Islands 1-cent coin dated 1996.
Other Canadian: 325
Copper memorials (1959-1981): 1216
All in all, a very nice haul!!
HH,
Bob
