The short answer is no.

If you are lucky, you will need to add 2 zeros to that number.

Is this serious? I take out $400 just for an hour trip through my town.....

$20.00 wouldn't even get you a "Happy Ending" at Friendlys Ice Cream in Orlando.......

I just wouldn't feel safe walking around with that kind of bank roll...

You're probably better off just paying foreign ATM fees than risking that kind of loss.

$20 sounds a bit arrogant to me. I mean do you really expect to find that many coins? Ah, might as well dream big I guess! :icon_thumleft:

As long as you focus on halves and nothing else, that way you can buy up to 40 at a time....

For a 4 day trip through three states, I would proabbly bring $5K - $7K. I know I can flip a lot of the halves after searching them, but I wouldn't WANT to go into a new bank and dump. Becuse I need to be asking for MORE at EACH bank. I'd use some halves for gas and food and lodging, thus reducing the halves I have, but just in case you get some GOOD banks (I had one yesterday that had a box someone didn't take, so I took $500 from them right then and there. Went to a few other banks and bought about $850 in halves just on a normal run yesterday while doing other things. The box was a skunk, of course. LOL> DOn't know WHY i even get those. But the loose rolls gave me 8 silvers yesteray, all fromone bank. A good day for me) you want the cash to back it up.

I carry about $2K in my wallet at ALL times, even local. And I dump halves at my dump banks (that have coin counters) when i pass them, so I keep replenishing the wallet. But I surely would not go with less than $5K, and probably more like $7K on that long of a road trip.

My honest opinion.

JP, seriously man?? You really need to think this through.

Lets see, first, think of all the things that could go wrong carrying that much around on your person. Secondly, your're just trying to make us jealous because you'll be buying $20.00 at a time in coin and searching (me personlly, am striving to achieve this feat one day of a bankroll of $20.00. Lastly, not sure what vehicle you drive....but all that weight from $20.00 in coinage might be stressful on the frame of that vehicle.

Think it over before you leave. I wouldnt take that much. Too much could go wrong.

Oddly enough, one of my biggest dime scores ever occurred when I first started out two years ago. One day, $20 in dimes yielded 52 silvers. No joke.

When I first started CRHing, about $20 was all I had for a bankroll. I figured that since it's just a numbers game, I'd try half cents. The banks sold them in 25 cent rolls... 50 coins. I could get 40 rolls at a time for twenty bucks. I would buy those with one $20 gold piece, of course. I probably searched $50k in half cents the first year. I never found a 1793, so I just put them all back in the wild. I shoulda saved a few of those half cents... I bet even the common ones would probably bring 15-20 times face today.

I think you are a tad on the high side. $10 should do it.
