Nice birthday present from Lady The Fortune
Today is my birthday.
Afternoon stopped by my local bank to buy some coins for CRH. Bought two boxes of dimes and one bundle of quarters. Yesterday one bundle of quarters produced for me a nice 1968 50%er. But today it was skunked. Switching to dimes.
First roll delivers one 1968er. Not too bad. Rest of the box I have no succes till a tiny silver coin showed up in one of the last roll - TWO ANNAS INDIA 1912. Never saw coins like this before. Prepared to finish the second box without any haul (I alreadi did it) :-)
But the second box delivers something special. After couple rolls I noticed some unusual paper wrapper I never met before. When it was opened I didn't believe my eyes. Among pretty old US and Canadian clad coins several silver rims looking at me. And first silver was 1876 Seated Liberty. Other were US and Canadians of first half of 20th century. Include 1942 Mercury dime.
After gain control I checked the box for rolls in wrappers like this. There where 6 more! And every those roll produced silver. Mercuries, Roosies, KGVI, early and recent design of QEII.
This is a breakdown by years:
- US: 1876, 1917, -28, -39, -42, -43, 1947, -48, -51
- Canada: 1944, -45, 1959, -60, -65, -68(2)
- India: 1912
Rest of box was skunk. Though thanks to Lady Fortune for such good birthday present. :-)

Happy Birthday with a seated!! Awesome find! I dont think the word skunk applies in this post. Again Super box!
If it were easy and we scored keepers everytime it would be called Coin Roll Picking not Coin Roll Hunting.

Happy Birthday and nice finds! That two annas has a nice design on the back (same design as the 1/2 rupee I have). It is also worth only silver value.
