my first boxes of halfs

Did my first 2 boxes of halfs.NO SILVER Found 4 (four) S mint mark 2000,2002,2007 and 2008 BU. I also found 2x 2010 and 2009 P mint marks.Brinks is the one that i got the boxes from. Do they do pretty good or is Loomis or Dunbar better?

Neither brinks,dunbar,garda,nor loomis produce Ag halves. All of the coin carrier cull Ag halves.
If I were you, I'd coin hunt quarters,SBAs, and Nickels.

sometimes you just have to work through the skunks to get to the silver but there is no way to know for sure which carrier will produce best unless if you know someone is using a particular bank as a dump then you might just be getting that persons dump when you order boxes from that particular bank but these are justs things you have to determine for yourself.

I get all String half boxes from several different banks that I think are all from Garda and I have mixed results from week to week but overall I do pretty good. But one of the banks I've found very little silver and I know someone is using it as a dump bank so I probably won't be ordering from that bank anymore. That's a little unfortunate because that bank is so conveniently located and thier delivery schedule is perfect for me as well. But furtunately there are other banks I can order from so I just have to adjust and focus on other banks and hope for the best.

Impaired or circulated Proofs are never called BU. Not even proofs in mint packs. They're rated as PR-60 to PR70 for non-circulated. If they are circulated they would rate under PR-60. Mostly likely those are PR-50 to PR-58.

I think that cbrtriple8 was trying to be funny. Hopefully it won't matter what service the banks get their coins from. You will go thru boxes of skunks & also get boxes with ag in them. The key is consistency & persaverience. Don't give up halfs after 1 box. The key is to make sure that you dump where the bank uses a different service than the service your pickup banks use. This way you don't get your dumps back to go thru. I get brinks boxes from my pickup bank but dump at a bank that uses garda.
