ALWAYS ask for "big dollars"
I was at my normal bank today and cashed out some pocket change. They've never, ever had any interesting coins so I didn't feel like asking again today. But I did ask if I could have it in $2 bills. She said "I'm sorry, I just gave the last few away. But I do have this. It looks old, doesn't it?"

I ask every time I go into the bank for the big dollars. So far I have found 4, all of them clad Ikes and I bought them all.

I usually ask. I've gotten about $100 in Ikes in the past at other banks. Nothing this cool before, though.

The ultimate bank score is getting a $10 gold piece in a handful of presidential dollar coins. Happened to someone on another board. I don't usually ask for pres dollars since I'd be walking around with buckets of the damn things, though.

Yeah it looks old except for the date. 
It's amazing to actually be able to buy pure silver bullion from a bank @ face!
