I completely do not understand marking coins.I think in my opinion its not in good taste.when i see a marked coin I wonder what use its to a collector after being defaced.I came across a beautiful proof the other day that had someones initials on it.Had to throw it back in the roll.Just my opinion I guess....to each his own.

I live in the DC area and I will look for them (I will not be able to CRH until June).

Re: One of you VA hunters
I am not trying to debate marking coins, its been done for years and years, and will continue for years more. I am just curious to find out how long it takes to resurface.

Re: One of you VA hunters
I'll look out for them in NY to see if any find their way up here lol. And on the subject of marking coins i see nothing wrong with marking say a bicentennial P or D where 234,308,000 of them were minted, but a new proof or NIFC are in poor taste, unless they are somehow trashed already.

Re: One of you VA hunters
How long have you been marking the n8 on the coins? I seem to remember running into plenty of them on my road trips a while ago.

Re: One of you VA hunters
I remember seeing a figure eight way back when. I have been around a while and have seen tons of marked coin. I will let you know if I see yours.
