hey quick question, when you go to dump your boxes do you wrap them back up or do you use a coin counter at the bank? If you use the coin counter what would be the best thing to carry all the lose coins? lol

hey quick question, when you go to dump your boxes do you wrap them back up or do you use a coin counter at the bank? If you use the coin counter what would be the best thing to carry all the lose coins? lol

I re-roll most of my dumps because I only have 2 coin counters in my area, and they are both behind the counter so only the tellers can operate them. For my coin counter dumps, I put my coins into those large plastic Jiff peanut butter jars for the tellers. Each jar can hold $200 in halves or dimes, or $50 in nickels or $15 in cents.

When I would dump at the do-it-yourself coin counters out east, then I would just use .30 caliber ammo cans to haul my change in - those things are great because they are sturdy, hold $750+ in halves, and have a nice handle on the top of them. Plus, you can detatch the lid completely so that it does not get in the way when you fill it up or dump. I mostly use the cans now to haul my re-rolled change into banks.

All coin counters? Oh, how I wish that were an option!! I have yet to find a bank that doesn't charge at least 2% (for MEMBERS!!) to use the counters. If I had access to counters I could up my volume insanely! Which banks have counters that you can use - at no cost?

I found a coin counter in my area that charges 3% for non members and 0% for members. I wonder what kind of fees or monthly fees they would charge me if I dont have any money going into that bank lol just using to use the coin machine.

My mom works at bank of america and shes convinced that they go through the rolls i want to prove her otherwise lol

Dang haha you can put 1000 in the machine without any problems? Is it pretty quick and are the coin counters ever off?

This is a lot of volume good luck, but please don't anger any banks, give a few a break every once in a while. It will be good for you and for fellow CRH's around you.

P.S. With such a high volume, your finds will slim down pretty fast, just to warn you.

There"s no way i would want to 50 boxes a week. My work is slow so why not for a few weeks?? Am haveing fun.It is a lot of work!! I did a box of dimes and found 2

What we are finding out is once people start searching so many boxes it ruins it for everyone else because, 1, the banks get tired of it real quick, and 2, it takes the silver out of the system faster than it is coming in. There is someone in my area that was getting 30 boxes a week and it ruined our area until the bank did stop him and lowered it to a max of 2 a week. Now at least we find some here and there.
