    Couldn't help myself...

Hey everyone, I've been checking out this forum for a little while now, just learning as I started hunting these past few weeks, but I finally just had to make an account, because today has been pretty sweet. Picked up my first order of 2 boxes of halves this morning, first box 4-40% 1-64 Kennedy, second box 2-40% 8-64 Kens. Overall very happy with the days take, but to me...it gets better.

Had to go out of my area for some errands, and figured I should run into a branch or two of my bank that have a free coin counter so I grabbed a jug of halves just in case. Go into the branch, start dumping, after about $200 the bag fills up, teller comes out swaps it out. As he is about to close the machine, he sees one of the penny bags was full and pulls it out as well, drags it out of the machine, lays it down and seals it. He then grabs both bags and heads back, I look down where the bag was on the floor, 1944 Merc
Must have missed the dime bag and was just laying on the bottom of the machine and the penny bag dragged it out. Anyways, first free silver, thought it was pretty awesome. Anyways, have 2 more boxes tomorrow, hope to find some more.

    Happy hunting!

You should have bought that bag of halves. My best score was off a bag. Good boxes though!

I've been asking, but always get the same response that they can't and have to send off to get counted blah blah blah...last week at one of my dump banks, they were pulling a bag I only put maybe 150 in, I am sure I saw a silver grouping, tried to buy it, even pulled the whole, oh wow I think I dropped a few coins I didn't mean to, but no luck. I am just going to assume it was uncirculated clad, yeah that what it was....

    Re: Couldn't help myself...

We where at one of our dump banks and the lady knew we had more halves than the bag could hold so she open the machine to help us out as we where all talking my son notices a silver half in the halve bag and very nicely ask can I swap one my halves for that one in there (there was maybe 7 in the bag) and the lady said sure, It was a 1967 halve. My son has the eye for silver! Not bad for dumping a box of halves only to score a 40% silver halve dollar. He also had luck on his own will tell that story another day much nicer score than this one!

So I was due to pick up 2 boxes of halves today, get to the bank they have 4, so i buy them as well.

    Box 1 - 2-40% Kennedy
    Box 2 - skunk
    Box 3 - skunk
Box 4 - Not exactly sure, no silver but I did find a lot of shinny S mint mark coins. From what I understand they are proof coins not intended for circulation? Can someone help me out, do they have any additional value or am I just holding pretty 50 cent pieces? I will post how many of each date, again all have the S mint mark and are for the most part in real nice condition.
