The downtown casino paid off again but no Barbers this time. :D Went thru $1000 and got two 90% (64 & 64-D) and twelve 40% (65, 67x5, 68x2, 69x4) plus a 72-S proof and another Sac. One thing I've noticed is 50¢ machines tend to jam up more often than others. I had slot techs working on machines twice trying to clear coin jams. BTW, I counted and there are 23 half dollar machines in the joint so plenty of opportunity to move around and not be too conspicuous.

Another $100 box of nickels produced a couple of keepers but no buffalos -

1940 (2)
1940D
1941
1941S (2)
1942 (non-silver)
1946 (3)
1950 (keeper!)
1952 (2)
1952D
1953S
1954S (2)
1955D
1956D
1957D
1958D
1959D (2)

Canadian: 1986

23 pre-1960 is a new high for one box. Plus the B of A cutie sold me six Ikes and will save any she finds for me from now on. Oh yeah!

pretty cool. just wondering, what nickels do you keep? i see you keep some dates and not others.

About 10 years ago I started trying to complete a solid roll (40 coins) of each pre-1960 year and mintmark. Once I finished one, say 1959-D, I stopped saving it. I've finished all but The Big Five - 1938-D, 1938-S, 1939-D, 1939-S, 1950-D - plus 1942-D, 1948-S, 1950, 1951-S, 1955 and most of the silver years. The 42-D, 48-S & 51-S are close to being done and the 1950 is more than half done. I've even finished three silver years, 43-P, 43-S & 45-S and of course I keep all wartime silvers.

So those are the ones I save in addition to any Jefferson from the 30s (I have nine rolls of 1939's). There's a large mintmark variety of the 1941-S that I also save plus any proofs (S mints from 1971-present).
