Re: BEGINNERS GUIDE TO COIN ROLL HUNTING!!!
This would be a great thread to "Pin to the top" of the Coin Roll Hunting Forum. I would like to ad that you should keep a log of your searching. Mine is very basic, just dates, how much searched, what bank, and the keepers.

Re: BEGINNERS GUIDE TO COIN ROLL HUNTING!!!
Great post!! Thank-you for taking the time to write this up.
A couple of questions:
Does anyone ever get asked by the tellers why they want all of these coins? what do you tell them?
Do you just collect / keep the "keepers" or is the plan to sell them for profit?

Re: BEGINNERS GUIDE TO COIN ROLL HUNTING!!!
I just tell them I am a collector.
I save all proofs, walkers, and franklins. But, sell all doublicate proofs, and every 90% and 40% kennedy.

Re: BEGINNERS GUIDE TO COIN ROLL HUNTING!!!
If you don't mind could you make a dictionary of sorts that tells what terms are what?
I think this would help a lot of new folks.
Just a few in your post:
BU
Proofs
Morgans
Red Seal Dollar Bills
MS
I know there are a lot more terms that folks use for coins. Any more added to the lsit would be great and I am sure they would help alot of folks.
Thanks!

Here is a link to a Numismatic terms site: They should have most of these terms and any other that might come up.
http://www.acsb.com/glossary.htm
I noticed they didn't have red seal or Morgan.
Morgans are a type of silver dollar issued from 1878-1921
Red seal notes are United States Notes that have a red treasury seal instead of the current Green Seal. They are usually older 1928-1966.

Please define rotated state quarters.is the back out of time to the front?

its when the dies were rotated, like it sounds. if you take any modern American coins and spin it. if you have the heads side up when you spin the tails should be upside down. if its not exactly upside down its called a rotation error. and the more the coin is rotated the more money it is worth.
