Mental Unrest -- Dime Roll Find -- 1837 Seated Liberty -- Pictures
I didn't think I could top my 1865 3 cent nickel I found a few months back, but I think this is one better. I saw the reverse first and thought it was a Barber. My most amazing find!!
1837 was a crossover year as it was the first year for the Seated Liberty and last year for the Liberty Cap.
Best to you -

Very nice find. It is almost faint, but even in G-5 shape, it is beautiful. I like both reverse and obverse designs.
For a 175 years old silver coin, it is in a decent shape. Looks like it circulated for at least 80-90 years.

And you even have the small date, which is more valuable.
1/100 of an American dollar is a cent. It is NOT a penny. The word penny is used by several other countries, such as Great Britain, to denote their smallest denomination. In order to be numismatically correct, you must use the term cent to describe the American coin.

That dime may have been carried in the pocket of a civil war soldier. Awesome find!
