Usernameerror's Finds

Rather than making a new thread every time I find something, I thought I would just make a single thread and update when necessary (hopefully often).

I left work early today to hit a bank before going home. I initially asked the teller for CWR dimes. She had $70 in CWR dimes. She also offered me 2 boxes but I declined as I noticed both boxes contained new 2012 P dimes. I then asked if she had any halves. She smiled and pulled $70 in CWR halves from her safe. She told me that a customer dropped them off earlier today and she would be glad to get rid of them. She found it a hassle to count the halves in her safe. I walked away with both dimes and halves.

This bank is in an area that services an elderly population so I was optimistic. I skunked on the dimes but I found a 1964 and 1967 :) the 64 was easy to find but I missed the 67 my first go around. I usually open the rolls and do a quick rim check then move on. The 67 had a darker rim so I missed it. Good thing I always check each half for proofs and NIFCs.

All in all it was a solid day. Good luck to everyone!

Definitely nice to have someone else looking out for you. My father-in-law has a really nice relationship with all the banks he visits for work. A lot of the tellers have told him that they will try to hold anything old for him. The best part is....only 1 roll to dump!!! :hello2: If only it were this easy all the time.

Hello everyone!

Haven't been able to do a lot of CRHing due to work.

Picked up a box of halves this week and found a few NIFCs and a 1972S Clad Proof that can use an acetone dip.

My father-in-law picked up some more rolls for me this week while visiting a bank for work. He managed to find $50 in CWRs. I pulled a 1966 and 1968D. At this rate I might as well stop ordering boxes of halves and just leave my father-in-law to find the CWRs.

Good Luck everyone!

Greetings everyone!

Silver has been slow for me lately. Just wanted to update my CRH log.

Since last post I've had 2 skunk boxes. However 1 box produced a few nice clad proofs. Also managed to find a 1967D from a single CWR and a 52D Roosie from $300 in CWR dimes. I'll be picking up another box tomorrow. Hope it's a dream box!

Good luck to everyone!

Thanks! Definitely exciting to see my first Merc in the wild. It still boggles my mind as to how some people that aren't as "educated" as us in older currency could put that in a CWR. I understand overlooking Roosies, but Mercs definitely catch your eye even if you aren't interested in coins.

To answer your question sm3464, I went to about 6 different banks banks and just asked for dimes. Pretty easy.

Btw do you bring the coins back to the bank rolled up? Just trying to find the easiest way.

I have a few banks near me that have coin counters that I use to dump my clad. Way more convenient than re-rolling. I also have one branch as my "Plan B" dump bank where I take rolled coin in as a last resort.

Greetings all!

September was kind of low for silver. Hoping to pick up the volume and the finds this month.

I visited a bank in a relatively low income area today. Glad I did! I only picked up $150 in CWR dimes. Managed to find a 1952D and 1964D Roosies.

Also found my first foreign silver! 1916 25 Ore Sverige! It's 60% silver at .0476 ozt.

There was also what seems to be an arabic coin made in 1964. It's very light and almost cheap feeling. I know its not silver. Can anyone ID?

Good luck everyone!
