I'm not into posting pics, but we found a fake Walker in one of our boxes today.

In the first place, it was the color of lead, and felt waaaay too light.

Sure enough, my home scale weighs it at 9.39 grams rather than the customary 12.5.

Too much difference for a mistake. Looked like a very good copy, tho. 1927.

Beaten up quite a bit, so it probably doesn't have any value even as a fake.

Oh well...

Keep on Rollin' !

I could be wrong about this but I believe there is a "value" to those... Especially if it is a fake that was made at the time to pass a fifty cent piece. (opposed to the garb we see coming out of china to pass for silver weight today.). Take it to a trusted coin dealer and see what they think, the last time I had a "fake" coin, it was from the era, and I got 50 bucks for it...

I bought a whole collection of fake US dollar coins ( thinking they were real)

I have 32 one dollar 'metal' coins - all differnt styles, from mogans, piece, ike, half bust...I would rather have the coins.

Contemporary counterfeits are worth quite a bit, especially since you can show it circulated. Later counterfeits are less common than early ones (for example, in the 1700s there were more fake half-pennies than real ones!) and so it would be quite interesting to the right collector. I would say it would be worth at least what silver melt does.
