Hope I dont get Jinxed in July - EE's month thread.
Well, June was definatly gloomy and I hope I dont get another month of nonsense. Basically I was ahead a month when June started for my goals and I still am for the moment in July.
Goal for July, 10.7021ozt
Dumping $1000 in halves on Monday and picking up unknown $$$ of dimes and nickels.

hit those nickels hard man... I miss nickel searching, wish i could buy bags of nickels since that ensures that my rolls won't be solid 2012 every time like I have been getting recently...

Nickels are bad performers. I would honestly stop nickels but it helps the bank out that I dump at. I am not a member but I deliver 2 bags of halves, I take all their dimes and nickels.
This last batch of nickels netted two dateless buffalo's that are currently taking a bath to see if the dates pop out. So far I am batting 100% on that.
Searching nickels takes forever too.. pain in the ass.
151 rolls of nickels in June, 1 war and 3 Buff
943 rolls of nickels to date, 9 war and 9 buff. One of each found for every 105 rolls. Not the greatest of odds.

People claim they can get 4-6 war nickels per box. I am lucky to get one per 3.
People claim they can get 4+ silver dimes per box, I am lucky to get one per box.
Where my numbers usually shine are halves. I average one 40% half per 19 rolls. even after this crappy month of June.

The coin counters out here are pretty much flawless. Almost never see a dime counted as a penny. One bank I go to though their counter over counts halves from time to time. Just yesterday I dropped off $1000 in halves and it came back $1019. I had to tell the teller that it should have been just $1000.

1/100 of an American dollar is a cent. It is NOT a penny. The word penny is used by several other countries, such as Great Britain, to denote their smallest denomination. In order to be numismatically correct, you must use the term cent to describe the American coin.

Got my 6 boxes for the week.
Box 1: 10/40% - 1/90%
Box 2: 8/40% - 1/90% - 1/Walker
Box 3: 8/40%
Box 4: Skunk
Box 5: Skunk
Box 6: 1/40%
I had hoped boxes 4,5 and 6 would continue the first 3 but it didnt happen, that is fine though, I found more in the first 3 boxes than I did in 28 boxes last month.
Tomorrow I dump $1000 in halves for whatever dimes and nickels the bank has.
July's totals
27 - 40% Kennedy (3.9933 oz)
2 - 90% Kennedy (0.7234 oz )
1 - 1944 Walker (0.3617 oz)
Total found 5.0784 oz for $15.00
Purchases
1 - 1883 0 Morgan $20 (0.7735)
Total Purchased 0.7735 for $20
4.8502 away from Goal for July.

I only pick up halves from one set of banks. All 3 banks are related and separated by about 30 miles total. The two I use the most are about 3 miles from each other. The first 3 boxes came from 1 branch and the other 3 from another, that is why I had hoped that the streak would have continued.
Next week I get 2 boxes from 1 branch, 2 from another and 3 from the third for 7 boxes.
Hopefully I am back to normal again. These are the kinds of boxes I am used to receiving, well these were a little heavier than normal but closer to normal than what June produced.

Went by the Corporate Devil known as Walmart to pick up some things for my boat and return an item that was not going to work for my needs. While waiting to return the item I see this guy and his GF or Wife hit the coinstar machine. I tell them I will buy any coins from them that the machine rejects. I hear a couple clinks and they put them back into the machine, one clink comes back out. I ask him how much I owe him and he says nothing and hands me a dime, 1964.
Cant complain about free silver.
Since I am off to bed, I will update my finds for the month tomorrow.

nice catch, walmarts in my area tend to attract the lowest of the classes, but it's probrably the best place to check the coinstar bin! stolen collections, i'm sure a ton of them run through the machine!

Halves are the best producers for me, June was a fluke.
5 Brinks boxes today.
Box 1: 2/40% - 2/Bens
Box 2: Skunked
Box 3: 3/40%
Box 4: Skunked
Box 5: Skunked
Not the best but I walked away with some decent weight and factored into the score from the middle of the week that puts me at 3.9444 for the week but I still have dimes and nickels to search tomorrow so I could still break 4oz this week.
July's totals
1- Roosevelt Dime (0.0723)
39 - 40% Kennedy (5.7681 oz)
4 - 90% Kennedy (1.4468 oz )
4 - Bens ( 1.4468 )
1 - 1944 Walker (0.3617 oz)
Total found 9.0957 oz for $24.10
Purchases
1 - 1883 0 Morgan $20 (0.7735)
Total Purchased 0.7735 for $20
0.9052 away from Goal for July.
July totals 9.8692 oz for $44.10 or $4.47 oz
