Nickel searcher reveals his finds status
FYi, I've only been searching nickels since mid March 2012. To date I found 3 Liberty Vs, 74 Buffalos & 110 silver War. In fact, the last box that I just searched gave me 4 more Buffalos - '20, '36D & '36x2 (see pic). Happy hunting & stay cool everyone.

R.I.P. Rich Hartford, You'll be missed.
wow, you do much more volume then I thought you did, keep it up, weird.. I average more buffalo nickels compared to silver wartime nickels... do you have a complete set of war nics from circulation yet? I know some are harder to find then others.

p.s. I used to be a larger nickel searcher at 1-2 boxes per week until my source went to solid 2012 rolls.

With all the War niks I found I'm sure I have a complete set by now. I'm also working on putting a Buffalo set together too. The amount of boxes of various coins I do each week varies. Right now I cut back & taking kind of a break. The hobby is too time consuming, it involves too much driving around dumping at so many banks, etc. So right now I do 4 boxes of halves & 4 to 6 boxes of nickels a week. I'm still working on all my boxes of cents that I have stock piled. Cents are the most time consuming. I don't bother with dimes & quarters. Hoarding copper & silver is my new 401k plan. But its long term. If they don't pass the cent melt law & if silver doesn't go up within 3 to 5 years, I'll cash everything in. Only time will tell. Meanwhile, the search continues for vintage coins. Thank God I was blessed with patience. I should have become a doctor.
2009 Find Totals (in progress):
1775 King George copper
3 dollars (2 Presential Washington & 2 Sacagawean)
3 Kennedy clad halves
417 Quarters (3 silver dated '34, '48 & '63)
423 Dimes (includes a few Mercs & silver Roseys)
1 Buffalo (no date)
Nickels ?
Cents ?

Nice score! Maybe post some pics of them (create a thread about it first).
1/100 of an American dollar is a cent. It is NOT a penny. The word penny is used by several other countries, such as Great Britain, to denote their smallest denomination. In order to be numismatically correct, you must use the term cent to describe the American coin.
