Indian Heads and Flying Eagles per box of cent?

This was a poorly phrased title. Should be...INDIAN HEADS AND FLYING EAGLES PER HOW MANY BOXES OF CENTS? As another newbie question I would like to ask what the average is for finding indian head cents and flying eagles. I know it must be low on the indian head cents. But to find a flying eagle would be like next to impossible...but apparently it's been done before.

For me at least. I bought some wheat cent rolls from a coin shop @ $2.50 a roll and found at least one or two indian head pennies per roll.

Last year I found an 1858 flying eagle Pennie from a brinks box. I posted on the oldest coin found thread 1857 but just looked at it again and it was a 1858. Here is a pic

I've gotten about 1 IH in $200 FV of pennies, of course I'm sure that is skewed because I've gotten a handful of collection dump bags/boxes where I've had multiple IHs.

I go through 50-100 fv a week. I have 100 sitting next to my desk as we speak but unfortunately 2 boxes are solid 2012D I need to dump.

Um, most probably around $2K FV of pennies. I usually pick up a box or a bag every week.

I've pulled one IHC out of a roll two months ago. It was a brinks roll. Two rolls after it, I pulled a 1910 S, then at the last roll I pulled a 1914 D.

It's kind of hard to say... On the last 4 weeks I did pennies (I'm gone for the army for the rest Of the month) I was able to pick up 10 bags of cents per week, plus I grabbed a box or two here and there. I only found two ih cents...

I've been searching cents since like last November, and I think my total for ih cents is either 6 or 7...

It just really all depends. The only sure fire way is to do as much volume as you can... You will find some eventually. My oldest was the 1874 one, but it was in very poor condition.

Ok well I'm in an area where wheat cents are very plentiful 10-20 per box so far, but the customer rolls I've been getting suck. So hopefully I will get more indian heads than others.

I've found that from the strings and sons boxes you will find at least 10 per box, which is the great part about boxes... It just sucks cutting all those rolls open

Well I'm going to the bank to get a box tomorrow and I'm going to bump my order up to 3 a week if I can and who knows maybe I'll get lucky!

Out of over 120,000 cents searched I have found ZERO Indian Head cents and have never even seen a flying eagle in person. Gotta keep hunting though!

If you want collection dumps of pennies, what you have to do is check the magnet all the time. If there are a lot of steel pennies on the magnet, I'd buy the bag because it could quite often be a collection dump.
