hey folks, y'all know I get 8 boxes of dimes from 2 banks per week, 16 boxes a week... or $4,000 a week...

the last 4 weeks($16,000 in dimes, yes... 160,000 dimes only netted me 2 silver dimes, both of them were actually canadian dimes from 1968 which happen to be 50% silver and worth about $1.00 if i sold them to the coin dealer...

now i have so many dimes to dump, i should just give up dimes...

where did all the silver dimes go?

;)

I usually do REALLY well with quarters! Averaging approximately 1 silver quarter per every $75 searched & they're worth more than a tiny little dime in silver value =)

how do you search your dimes?? A 160,000 dimes is a lot of dimes...... No way your doing that by hand.

I am just a newbie so it's probably beginners luck but the other day I picked up my first box of 250.00....hit 1 silver 1963. Not bad considering the dime horror story's ive heard such as this one. Must be beginners luck because I have made 5 trips to the bank so far and only got skunked once....

Dimes have really been skunky for me lately. I gave up on dimes after a recent 22 box skunk streak with not one silver dime. I decided to try some quarters. Glad I did. Jackpot. Out of the last 15 boxes of quarters,I have averaged 8 quarters per box. I don't even do half dollar boxes at all anymore. Quarter boxes are where its at !!! :headbang:.......................................................... :laughing7:

I hope so, because boy, they are a HELL of a lot easier to get. But I'm not into sorting quarters by hand. Halves would be ok, because you have To order them and they chew up bankroll quick so you can only go through so many anyways.... I haven't got my first box yet but I have inquired about them at enough banks to know they are a pain to get. Quarters and dimes on the other hand.....tellers love to give you these, no problem. Only problems no silver. I got one dime out of a 250 box and zero quarters but I only did 10 rolls. I hate hand searching.....

Mrs crh, are you serious? And quarters come in $10 rolls so why is your average based on per $75 serched?

I got a quarter (1963) in change for my coffee once. Posted it on here as well. It is out there, just not where you are. :laughing7:
