Amazing TD Bank Penny Arcade coin reject tray coin bonanza

The Penny Arcade coin machine at all TD Banks have been good to me during my CRHing career. And it was exceptionally great the other day.

The first thing I do before dumping coins is check the coin reject tray. So when I did the tray was totally full. And as fast as I was scooping handfuls of coins out they just kept coming falling down. With my long finger inside the tube, I kept pulling coins down all the time keeping filling the tray & the coins kept coming. I felt like I hit the jackpot at a casino in Atlantic City. My pants pocket was full & I couldn't fit anymore. Good thing I had a canvas money bag with me to put he coins in.

A total of 512 coins were found. 497 US coins; 14 assorted foreign coins & 1 car wash token good for $1.00. There are a lot of quarters, dimes, nickels & cents. After I go through all the coins to see if there are any keepers I'll cash them in.

Does anyone want to take a guess as to how much money is there? I will post the amount with the total break down later after I cash (dump) the coins. Does anyone want to make a guess as to how much money I found?

The most I've ever scored was $15. None were keepers so I just through it right back into the machine with my halves.

$41.75 or so.

Once, I dumped on a Friday and they didn't put the half bag on properly, blocking the reject slot. It stayed that way until the following Tuesday when I went back in and filled up more halves. Total score? $72 in loose change blocked up, including 2 silver dimes and SLQ. Talk about a bonanza...

Wow! Never seen anything close to that in a reject tray.

Was walking out of a dump bank today after withdrawing cash to pay for a box at another bank and saw something peeking out from behind the flap in the reject tray. Turned out to be a Costa Rica 50 colons coin. Worth about 10 cents, but it's something else for my world coins pile.

Nice bonus! The foreign looks a lot like what I would pick up from my bank's reject area on any given day. I scored $47 last week from a penny arcade. There was a ton of coin uncounted from when I walked up to the machine, and then a load more in the tray like that. Certainly made for an exciting day including the 2 oz of silver I culled that day.

wow nice haul, penny has been good to me too, but never a "cache" greater than $10 or so in the reject tray.

That is awesome for you, not so much for the person who was shorted. I have seen that happen when the machine stops working correctly and just rejects everything. I pulled a 10 cent Peso out of a Penny Arcade today, and a few pennies. The best finds are usually on the magnet (found 10 steel 1943 pennies that way last week).

Extraordinary find, almost surreal. My wild guess is $50 or so. The other day I dumped $400 in halves and $200 in quarters at one of those. The halves bag filled up so the count was interrupted once, then it rebooted as I finished my dump. Funny thing was it rejected 2 halves, but still the two tickets totaled up to over $613 including dimes, nickels, and pennies which I hadn't dumped.

Penny Arcade is the coin counting machines used at TD bank branches.. Penny and I have a love hate relationship.. Especially when she isn't feeling very good..

I have found so much money its hard to count?? I would say $300 I did the same thing one time the money just kept pouring out. About $35. Now that i use bags i don't get to much anymore.

Wow you people are good with your guesses. Not counting the foreign coins, the total face value of the coins came to $29.96. There were 73 quarters (1 is a Bicentennial), 64 dimes, 57 nickels, 248 cents of which 66 are copper & there was 1 Wheatie dated 1956.
