New Clad Half

I don't know on that coin but, I have found a George Washington one that was Silver a couple of weeks ago, so I would say there are silver ones, but not sure on that one. Sagattarrius would know, I'm sure he'll chime in and let us know. Maverick.

I mentioned earlier last week this same question. Modern ('82 and later) commemorative half dollars are clad except for two. The first is the 1982 George Washington half dollar commemorating the 250th anniversary of his birth. The second is the 1993 Bill of Rights half dollar featuring James Madison on the obverse. Both are 90% silver.

I never knew it until a few months ago when I had my eye on a nice commemorative half dollar. The big dollar commemoratives are silver though, right? Or are some of them clad?

I have several of the big Ike dollar that are comms, and all of mine so far are clad. Hopefully someone chimes in if some are silver.

I checked my coin app and apparently some are 40% silver. No 90% Ikes according to it's description.

The regular 70's Ikes are not commemorative, just a regular dollar coin. Some of the 'S' proof coins are 40% silver, and you can do a drop test to test them. There was an Ike commemorative coin in... 1990, I think. I'll try and find a pic of it.

it's all good. The main valuable Ikes are 1973 (any mint mark, there were none released for circulation), 1972 Type II reverse, silver Ikes, and uncirculated Ikes, and clad proofs (those sell uncirculated on eBay for at least $7 a pop). All of those bring premiums (there are a few others that do, but I'm not versed in those, so someone else will have to enlighten you about them.)

Also, the 1990 Ike commemorative is 90% silver.

Yep, that's it. Don't know how accurate the prices are bit it seems to be a decent reference.

That is great info, thanks. I have over $100 in Ikes that I need to go through some in great condition. I have $50 in Ikes added to my halves order at a local bank coming in next week so I'll have

Oops. I'll have a better idea on what to look for. Before I'd sell any I would educate myself better. I'm hoping to get a surprise like when a couple weeks ago I got 2 Peace dollars mixed in with the Ikes I bought out of a tellers tray.
