While reading older posts I gathered this info.
Halves that are 2002 and current are not issued for circulation. People break open sets and that's how they get into circulation. You will most likely find P & D mints. Some of the S mint halves will be 90% silver.

I am finding a lot of BU current halves some are nicely struck others have a weak date. Is it every single year and mint that I should be looking for and grabbing? or just certain mints and years.

Last night's half box netted around 15-20 of just the good looking ones. Many 2002 looked weak so I tossed them in the return box.

Forgot to mention that half box also got 2 walking liberties, 1-90% & 8-40% I still have $750 to look at!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM HOOKED

I wouldn't keep anything 2001 and older as far as uncirculated goes unless it is a proof or silver. They really aren't worth anymore money.
